Until recently I worked in an exclusive educational toystore that prided itself on its ideal of encouraging children to learn through fun. It’s a noble ideal but one I didn’t see put into practice during the day to day hard sell. Sure, the toys on display were upmarket and expensive and the store supplied a small range of educational games and learning charts etc.

Beyond mediocrity. Read the rest of this entry »

Today, March 8, is International Womens Day. It’s a day to celebrate and encourage the advancement of women in our society, to get behind the sisterhood and feel proud of how far we’ve come. I’ve been wondering where to start posting about this somewhat enigmatic subject. What is the truth after all? And what is beauty? How do I begin to explain why it means so much to me to connect with you, unravel some threads and find out what’s really going on inside a woman’s mind and within her relationships?
